Information
Join us in the coastal redwoods for a hike of about 5 miles in Huddart Park on Oct.17. Days can still be warm this time of year so this mostly shaded park can be a great escape. Go West off Hwy 280 on Woodside Road (Hwy 84) in San Mateo county (watch for particularly vigilant cops in Woodside). Bear right just after the main part of town onto Kings Mtn. Road for about 3 miles on a very winding and steep road to the park on the right. Meet at the Zwierlein picnic area at 9:15 AM. NOTE: THIS IS A
CHANGE FROM THE MIWOK AREA IN LAST MONTH’S FLYER. Bring layered clothes for changeable weather, a hat, strong hiking shoes, a lunch (optional) with drinks and possibly something to share and a camera. We will also suggest places for lunch after the hike about a half hour away by car. Cost to enter the park is $5 per car, so carpooling is highly recommended. If you would like, you can meet at my house in Campbell, just W of San Tomas Expressway and consolidate vehicles there. I can also help you pair up with other hikers. I plan to leave my place at no later than 8:30 AM and can take 5 more people. For a more detailed description of the hike, go to here.
